No one can deny that Jay Wud, the 4-piece band from Dubai, has become a household name in the Rock and Metal community. The Lebanese guitarist and his multinational band have crossed many borders throughout the years.

Jay Wud are no strangers to the international platforms as they performed in the legendary VIPER ROOM in Los Angeles, as well in several festivals in Europe and the region.  Opening for bands like Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, and Skunk Anansie surely made Jay Wud one of the biggest names in the Middle East. And now, Jay Wud Tour with Sons Of Apollo just lifted the bar even higher.

Few Days ago, Jay announced a tour with the super-group SONS OF APOLLO that features Dream Theater’s ex-Drummer Mike Portnoy and ex-Keyboardist Derick Sherinian. Jay Wud will participate in 5 of the 9 shows of the UK & IRELAND 2018 SOS tour.

In addition to the tour, Jay Wud announced in January his participation in the Amplified Festival in the UK on July 8th here.

UNCURED Reveals New Line-up, Details About New Album, And Tour With KATATONIA

Press Release November 29, 2016:

Uncured, a progressive metal band based in New York City, is attracting attention for its combination of technical musicianship, brutal riffs, and melodic interludes. The group released its debut EP Spontaneous Generation in October 2016. Top metal and rock outlets praised the EP, likening Uncured to prog titans Opeth and Dream Theater.

Joining Uncured on drums is new full-time member Liam Manley from Portland, Oregon. Liam has over 13 years experience playing drums, including five years of professional session work with various artists across the U.S. Jon Kita from Boston, Massachusetts, who also plays with metal stalwarts Diecast and City of Homes, rounds out the Uncured line-up on bass.

Uncured was founded in 2014 by brothers Rex and Zak Cox. The Cox brothers wrote all of the music on Spontaneous Generation and played guitar and bass on the EP. They were joined on drums by special guest Max Portnoy (son of drumming legend Mike Portnoy).

“We want to thank Max, the entire Portnoy family, and our friends in Next to None for helping us make Spontaneous Generation such a huge success,” said Zak Cox.

Uncured is currently in the studio recording its first full-length record Medusa. The record will continue to build upon Uncured’s penchant for variety, ranging from crushing riffs to intricately layered acoustic passages. Medusa will also feature vocals by both Zak and Rex. Medusa is scheduled for release on March 10, 2017 and will be available on iTunes for pre-order on February 23, 2017.

To support the launch of the new album, Uncured will kick off its North American tour with Katatonia and Caspian on March 16, 2017. “We are honored to be included on this tour, ” said Rex Cox. “We have been fans of Katatonia for over a decade, and they have had a significant influence on our music.”

System Of A Down Tours Europe 2017

After years of a long hiatus and several reunions, System of a Down, the highly notable Armenian-American metal band that made incredibly influential music throughout the years and releasing their last album “Hypnotize” back in 2005, announced their tour dates in Europe playing selected festivals and headlining some for this summer of June/July 2017!

In a recent interview, frontman Serj Tankian revealed that SOAD have been communicating with the possibility of writing new material. “We’re communicating and trying to see if we can bring our material together,” Serj said. “There’s definitely a lot of communication going on, a lot of back and forth. I can’t make a statement in terms of whether we’re going to have a record or not, because we haven’t gone into the studio and done it. But there’s definitely communication going on, songs being played to each other and all that stuff, so it’s good. We’ll see what happens. I think it would be great to create something brand new in a new direction. It would be very exciting, but everyone’s got to be on board, on the same page, and it’s got to be done in a way so that everyone is happy. If we can do that, we’ll do it.”

Check out SOAD’s memorable performance in Yerevan-Armenia (2015):

ANURYZM Tour Updates – Belgium Shows Canceled, Amsterdam Show Added

ANURYZM tour kicked off on October 8th in Germany as part of the Cologne Metal Festival, and the band had their second show in Diest-Belgium. But things were not as smooth as they should have been.

ANURYZM, and on their way to Belgium where they have 3 scheduled shows, received a message from the Belgian promoter Gianni Riga (Hydra Productions and Booking Agency) stating that they have no support act and no backline: “We reached Diest for a show, we were surprised to see no promotion/posters and of course no backline whatsoever.” (Read Full Statement Below).

Devastated by the incident, ANURYZM did the impossible to get the show at Diest up and running, “With the help of the awesome Moonlight Music Hall in Diest, we managed to get some drums and the minimal backline that we could get on a Sunday.”
The band continued their statement: “While the band was setting up, we were discussing the next shows with Gianni as the band were confused and obviously had questions, we were suddenly slapped with and we quote ‘I CANCEL ALL SHOWS’.”

Not to surrender to the situation, Anuryzm showed an incredible will to make the best of the bad situation. They got confirmed for a show in Amsterdam on Wednesday 12th of this month (Tomorrow Night) with the UK Heavy Metal band HOSTILE at THE CAVE Rock club. HOSTILE are currently on tour in Europe as well.

And the remaining show of the tour will be as planned at the Maximum Rock festival in Romania headlined by KAMELOT and MOONSPELL on October 14th.

Anuryzm would like to thank Mr. Marcel Ssod from the band Seven Steps of Denial for helping us with this…. And of course the amazing people behind the gig.. Mr. Aram TheCavelord, and the epic promoter Ellen J van Heezen who made this possible!- ANURYZM
