NAPALM DEATH Vocalist Continues Touring After Breaking His Ankle On Stage

Napalm Death vocalist and obvious badass Mark “Barney” Greenway broke his ankle during a February 19 show in Munich, Germany and is still on the road, doing his thing from a chair. Greenway addressed the injury during a February 26 show in Paris, France, saying he had no interest in bailing on the tour and will continue to play shows for the next few weeks.

“We are Napalm Death from the picturesque fucking utopia that is Birmingham, England. And so yes indeed, to come to the obvious focal point in the room – broke an ankle on stage in Munich seven nights ago,” said Greenway to the crowd. “So I’ve got another five fucking weeks in this thing, but I’m gonna make the fucking most of it.

“Needless to say, there may have been an option for me to not do the gigs, but that is not what I do or what I don’t do. I wanted to go [and play the gigs], and that is it. So, once again, apologies and thanks for your patience in advance.”

Yes, this is an incredible amount of dedication to the craft… but we do wish Greenway a very speedy recovery and hope this isn’t too painful
