Aces High and FreeFall took on the renovated Quadrangle stage and gave us a show which they entitled “The Resurrection”.
Quadrangle was nearly full for this show, and the crowd seemed very excited since it was Aces High’s first appearance in a very long time, and they had a new lineup set up, in addition to FreeFalls’ debut show.
Following some technical difficulties, FreeFall kicked off the show with a metalcore cover of Dio’s Holy Diver. The band covered songs by Black Sabbath, Killswitch Engage, System of a Down, and Metallica. Although they struggled with some of the songs they covered, they managed to pull off an okay show.
Up next was the main act, Aces High, with its new line-up. The band had a much stronger presence than it had before and  managed to pull the entire crowd, getting them to stand right next to the stage, and threw them into a non-stop frenzy from the first song they played up until the very last one. They played a couple of originals and covers (Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Metallica, Disturbed, and Savatage) aided at times by Phenomy’s vocalist, Sam Felfly. The band’s originals sounded pretty heavy and enjoyable, something one would anticipate to hear on a record. As the band ended their performance, the crowd was left satisfied and were asking for an encore!
I will definitely be looking forward to watching both of these bands in the future.
