KORN‘s new song is INSANE! No, really, the name of the song is actually “Insane” and it is the second track to be released from their upcoming album “The Serenity of Suffering“. (See video below)
“The Serenity of Suffering” is the follow-up to the 2013 album “The Paradigm Shift”, which is planned to be released on October 21st through Roadrunner Records. The album was produced by Grammy Award-winning American producer Nick Raskulinecz, known for his work with FOO FIGHTERS, RUSH, GHOST, MASTODON, EVANESCENCE, and TRIVIUM, among others.
Exactly a month ago, on July 22, KORN released the official video for their first single from “The Serenity of Suffering” titled “Rotting In Vain“. The video features Hollywood actor Tommy Flanagan who is mostly known for his role in “Sons Of Anarchy” and “Gladiator”. The song also features Dave Katz (Sluggo) who added electronic overdubs to the mix. (See video below)
Besides Sluggo, “The Serenity of Suffering” also features a guest appearance by SLIPKNOT’s front man Corey Taylor on the song “A Different World”.

“The Serenity of Suffering“ album art was created by contemporary artist Ron English. It depicts a teenage KORN fan at a dystopian acid-nightmare funfair who is clutching a disemboweled and skeletal version of the doll who adorned 1999’s “Issues”.
As you can see in the player above, Korn have indulged their macabre side with the assistance of director Ryan Valdez, delivering a ghastly take on post-mortem photography (or memento mori), the practice of preserving loved ones after death with images.
