On the 23rd of February, Scarab announces parting ways with their old Drummer, Hatem El Akkad, through their Facebook page. But that’s not all.

The band had more announcements. First, they announce that they will be working on a new album titled “Martyrs of The Storm” and that they “are producing something unexpected this year […] and nothing will stand in our way to truly express death metal”.

It wasn’t long (as in few hours) until the band announces that their new drummer is Michel Khater who has been for some while in the Egyptian metal scene.

Scarab is an Egyptian death metal band formed in 2006 holding 2 full-length albums, Blinding the Masses (2010) and Serpents of The Nile (2015), and one ep, Valley of the Sandwalkers (2007). Scarab has opened and played in a number of international and local metal festivals such as With Full Force XVI 2009, Dubai Desert Rock Festival 2009, and Devilstone Festival.
Scarab went through several lineup changes over the past 2 years and one of the founding members, Tarek Amr, parted ways with the band.
