As the scene rises, more bands appear, hence IV Dimensions. The band was formed very recently, giving off an oriental vibe in their new original “Face My Fear Alone”. The band members come from different musical backgrounds and genres. Different aspects, different backgrounds, giving the band its several “Dimensions”.
In decreasing order of dimensions, the V’th Dimension is Marcelino Said: started out as a bassist, but turned to guitar later on in his career. The IV’th Dimension is Patrick Stephan: the drummer performed with many musicians varying between local and international musicians. The III’d Dimension is Yehya Hijazi: the lead vocalist and guitarist with a very diverse musical background ranging from grunge to progressive metal. He is currently working on his solo album. The II’d Dimension is Cynthia Maalouf: being the bassist in a heavy metal band, she’s what holds the band together, musically speaking. Her diverse musical background ranging from Latin to funk fusion to rock and even metal gives her a fixed and sturdy background in music, enabling her to master her position as the bassist of IV Dimensions. Last but not least, the I’st Dimension, Chady Khairallah: the keyboardist, with a very fixed background in metal, due to him playing with Chained Reaction and Tormented. He gave the original its oriental vibe by complementing the drums. These are IV Dimensions’ dimensions.
The carefully balanced mix between metal and oriental music gave a slight taste of our Middle Eastern vibe. One of the most prominent elements in that song to me would be the addition of the “derbake” to the drum set. Add to that the oriental sounding guitar which dominated the whole song. The music video was well worked on, great editing, and obviously a lot of hard work was put to it. The vocals are pretty good, but I think there could’ve been places where it can be much better. This band slightly shows the surface of the Lebanese metal scene, with more bands still coming out, producing more singles and albums. Who knows what can happen in the scene ten years from now…
