A truly fascinating performance, brought to us by Beirut’s very own Brick Floyd, took place on the 7th of November. What more can a fellow Floydian wish for than to rock to some of his favorite songs on an otherwise gloomy Saturday evening?
Given the stage for only a couple of hours, the band managed to cover excerpts from Pink Floyd’s legendary albums, such as The Wall, The Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Meddle, Wish You Were Here, The Division Bell, and The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, with the compliment of psychedelic lighting ensuring that you fully enjoy the experience. Brick Floyd, hands down. They managed to build a time machine and give us all a ride, as we were sent back to the Floydian era.
The music was played with a true passion as Brick Floyd seemed as though they had been in The Quadrangle all alone, yet still satisfied our appreciation and thirst for Pink Floyd. The audience, who crammed the area, described the performance as one that brought them a genuine euphoric experience, in which they could drink and truly enjoy the music. If I could criticize anything, I really would, but their performance, as the French would say, was chapeau bas.
