Lebanon’s  Blaakyum will be sharing a stage this summer with huge bands such as Testament, Anthrax, Behemoth, Lordi, and Gojira.

We are talking about Finland’s Tuska Open Air Festival. Tuska is a rock/metal open air festival that has been going since 1998. The festival has shown increased attendance over the years and has featured more bands year after year.

And this summer, on the first day of July 2016, Blaakyum will be playing in Finland.

We don’t always book bands from Lebanon. But when we do, it’s Blaakyum from Beirut. Their music combines old school thrash with heavy metal, but also throws in the mix some middle-eastern folk music and groove metal bits. The over twenty year old band is seasoned in many battles, such as reaching third place in Wacken Metal Battle 2015. If your mind is tuned to old school thrash and heavy metal, now is your chance to see something interesting.

Blaakyum will share the stage with Avantasia, Testament, Behemoth, Lordi, Delain, Cattle Decapitation, Mantar, Beast In Black, Bendover, and Whorion.

But that’s not all. Tuska is a three-day festival and on the second and third of July, more bands will be playing. Bands announced to play on the second of July are Ghost, Anthrax, Stam1na, Primordial, With The Dead, Havok, Tsjuder, Circle, Crimson Sun, Mørket, and Fuck-Ushima. As for the third of July, Children Of Bodom, Katatonia, Gojira, Diablo, Myrkur, and Mörbid Vomit have been announced.

More bands will be announced later in spring.

Tickets are available via the festival’s official website.

Blaakyum have been seeing a lot of action lately; they were among the top 3 finalists in the Wacken Metal Battle 2015 and are currently working on their new album.

What’s your favorite Blaakyum performance?
