In 1996, GRASPOP debuted in the town of Dessel in Belgium with only 16 bands on their bill, featuring big names like Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Type O Negative among others.

After a run of 20 years, GRASPOP METAL MEETING will feature around 110 bands from all around the world and an expected 150,000 attendees, to give one of the most memorable experiences that you can have during a music festival.

This year’s edition will feature legendary bands such as: IRON MAIDEN, BLACK SABBATH, VOLBEAT, MEGADETH, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, KING DIAMOND, NIGHTWISH, TWISTED SISTER, AMON AMARTH, GHOST, TRIVIUM, GOJIRA, among many many others (see full list below).

“The reality is that our world has changed recently. As a society, we must learn to deal with the threat of terrorist attacks.” With that said, Graspop Metal Meeting, along with other festivals, has taken serious precautionary measurements in advance, based on consultations with the authorities, and will inform festival goers about directives and guidelines to ensure a safe metal weekend.

Access

The festival site opens its doors every festival day (Friday 17 June, Saturday 18 June, and Sunday 19 June) on 10 AM and closes after the last performance at around 01.30 AM.

The Metal Plaza is the zone wedged in between the campsite and the actual festival site. This zone is sealed off between 5 and 8 AM each morning to make the necessary preparations for the next festival day. The festival starts on Friday, but the Metal Plaza opens its doors at 2 PM on Thursday. The Metal Plaza closes on Monday morning at 5 AM.

And what’s better than a secluded VIP lounge, which is an oasis of relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle of our festival. The VIP lounge offers a perfect view of the two main stages and a broad selection of beverages.

Of course, the best part for a metal head is the Merch section.

Ever since 1996, Orange Artist Promotion has organized its Metal Market and Festival Fair on the festival grounds. The indoor METAL MARKET is a trade fair for every type of audio and video recording, merchandise, etc.

Graspop Metal meeting offers various types of facilities (lockers, Wifi and phone charging spots, First Aid zone, Car park, etc.) and it went an extra mile to make it even accessible for disabled people as well so that everyone can enjoy and have a great weekend.
