Machine Head Members Quit!

It is always unfortunate to hear that our favorite bands are breaking up, but most of us really have no clue what these bands actually go through! A Good friend of mine once said “Having a band is like getting into marriage!”, it requires a lot of effort, chemistry, and compromise between different attitudes so that any band can work through their differences.

Today, Machine Head’s Prominent member Rob Flynn( Rhythm Guitar) posted a live video announcing that the band lead guitarist Phil Demmel quit the band and he was followed by Dave McClain (Drums). However, Jared MacEachern is still not sure of his future in the band. Rob assures that their tour is still going to go on and it will be a farewell tour celebrating more than 15 years of their music and the era of the band. He also mentions that they have grown apart as people and musically, he takes responsibility of what has happened. “I have held on too tight to the reins of this band and I have suffocated those guys,” the Machine Head frontman admitted, continuing, “I’ve got some rough edges; I’m kind of a barnacle. Those rough edges have given us the success we have but they’ve also hurt the people around me.”

In the video, Flynn laments the loss of his two longtime bandmates, but offers praise of their abilities and their character.

Lamb Of God Resurrects Burn The Priest

Earlier this week, the band posted a cryptic teaser video that teased “Burn The Priest” was coming on March 23! Groove Metal masters Lamb Of God started first as Burn The Priest in 1994 and changed their name over to Lamb Of God in 1999 to avoid satanic accusations.

It turned out that the band is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its debut album with a collection of covers titled Legion: XX, due on May 18 through Epic Records.

The 10-track set includes Agnostic Front’s “One Voice”, Bad Brains’ “I Against I” and The Accused’s “Inherit the Earth,” which is the first single. All the groups represented on Legion: XX are among Blythe’s favorites, especially Bad Brains. Initially into punk, noise, hardcore, and crossover music.  Burn The Priest

Evil Invaders Release A New Track And Details Of Their Upcoming Album

Belgium’s Extreme Metallers EVIL INVADERS are back! After touring extensively all over Europe in support of their highly acclaimed debut album “Pulses Of Pleasure” (2015) and their intense follow-up EP “In For The Kill (2016)”, these Belgians have managed to capture the ultimate collection of rugged adrenaline and compressed violence onto one record! Their second monstrosity of an album is called “Feed Me Violence” and will be released worldwide on September 29 via Napalm Records.

Having that said, the band have another special treat involving the release of their first video from “Feed Me Violence” for the song “Mental Penitentiary”.
Joe commented on the first track:
“One of the fast songs on the record and definitely one of the coolest tracks we’ve written so far! Pretty intense lyrics, which are definitely worth checking out! The mid tempo part in the middle gives a nice contrast with the fast shit that’s happening before and after. Making this video was compulsive endless lunacy! Fortunately only the camera guy got injured…”

Feed Me Violence will be available as regular Jewel Case edition as well as 1LP Gatefold Edition. An unstoppable roller coaster ride of tempo switches and twists from start to finish! Pre-Orders will be available shortly!

The full track listing reads as follows:

INTERVIEW | New Nervecell Album “Past, Present…Torture” Out Summer 2017

As soon as we heard about the new Nervecell album, “Past, Present…Torture”, that is scheduled to be released on August 25 this year, we jumped into the opportunity to have an interview with the Middle Eastern metal Legends.

Nervecell is a multi-award winning band formed in the year 2000 in the United Arab Emirates. With several endorsements, many media features and performances in the biggest festivals in the world like Wacken Open Air, Rock Am Ring, opening for Metallica and Morbid Angel, and many more, Nerevcell has definitely made a huge impact on the Middle Eastern Metal scene. Being called by Metal Hammer one of the “50 Heroes Of The New Metal Revolution” sure makes them deserve to be called nothing less than legends. Check out below our interview with Barney Ribeiro, guitarist of the band. Continue reading

JAY WUD Announce Third Album And Release New Single

Dubai-based band Jay Wud announced the release date of their third album, “Transitions“, which is due on the 30th of June, also releasing a new single from the album called “Empire” that serves as a great introduction to the band’s mix of heavy metal tunes and flamboyant rock. Jay Wud

Fronted by Lebanese singer/guitarist and namesake Jay Wud who is known for his powerful vocals and his scorching metal-tinged hard rock riffs. With members from Serbia and Latvia, their Middle Eastern success has seen them support the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Mötley CrĂĽe, and Skunk Anansie, and become headliners in their own right.

With the help of an impressive crowdfunding campaign that raised over $30,000 (we shared about it >here<), they were able to complete recording “Transitions” with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Seether, My Chemical Romance, Theory of a Deadman) in Los Angeles.
This third JAY WUD album marks a new beginning for the band as they venture into much darker, heavier, and more explorative territory.

Pre-Order “Transitions” From iTunes

Listen to Jay Wud’s “Empire” below:

Lyrics:

This empire of fucking thieves
deceiving you as they sell you shattered dreams
compulsive liars, bending truth
retribution has to come from me and you

you will fall down, wither and fade away for good
your time is done now, wither and fade away you should

extinction is their own fate
rise up, deny and break this fucked up state
redemption, are we blind ?
we don’t belong , we have been left behind

you will fall down, wither and fade away for good
your time is done now, wither and fade away you should

thieves
fucking thieves

you will fall down, wither and fade away for good
your time is done now, wither and fade away you should

An Interview With Onslaught

It was a very exciting moment when, during last September’s THRASH MERCENARIES TOUR, we contacted Blaakyum, who were part of the tour, to ask them if they would be able to pass a few questions we prepared as an interview with Onslaught. But Blaakyum’s frontman, as well as their manager, proposed to do it as a video interview, instead of a written one, with Bassem Deaibess volunteering to ask the questions prepared on our behalf and to film the interview on his mobile phone. (Watch Video Interview Below)

An interview with Onslaught

Onslaught is a band that would “never compromise [their] artistic integrity in any way”. We got a lot of insights from Sy Keeler and Nige Rockett about the inside world of Onslaught. Covering many subjects starting with the then ongoing tour, Nige and Sy explained how important it is today for a band to tour and why. They also shared with us some funny, beautiful, and life-changing stories they have faced during their life on the road; some were weird though.

Talking about their composition and the band’s sound, Nige was surprised that some people are “anal” about what tuning the band can use for a thrash Metal song.

“when you look at Testament, Kreator, Overkill, ourselves, everybody is making some of the best music they ever created.” – Nige

The interview also covers the band’s influences, which start with Punk and end with Prog, the recording back in the day versus the recording procedures and costs of today, ending up with information about the upcoming releases. So enough with me blabbering about the interview, you can watch it below:

Damage Rite Releases A New Album 2017

Damage Rite is a Thrash/Death metal band founded by guitarist/Vocalist JM Elias, in the summer of 2003 under the name of “Post Mortem”. A name that the band chose to portray a generation that came after the war, but they soon needed to changed it to Damage Rite after they found out that there are a lot of Metal bands using the same name (to know why they chose Damage right check out the video here).
